Visit Living Free Animal Sanctuary (LFAS) Desert Outpost at the Westfield Mall in Palm Desert. The Outpost is an extension of their 154 acre non-profit pet rescue in the San Jacinto Mountains and makes Living Free more convenient for the desert community.

Every Saturday, Living Free brings adorable cats and dogs in need of loving homes. Guests can meet and adopt rescued dogs and cats. There are crafts and activities for children of all ages. Exclusive merchandise is available for sale supporting LFAS.

Jennie Rayner, board member and chair of LFAS, and other volunteers are on hand to tell about rescue efforts throughout the desert and mountains. They can also provide information about War Horse Creek, a new immersive transition training program using rescued wild mustangs to assist veterans as they adjust to civilian life.

Other local organizations, for example, C.A.N. (Coachella Animal Network) and Coachella Valley Horse Rescue have information about their programs available.

Open Fridays & Saturdays, 11am – 4pm on Level One at Westfield Mall, 72-840 Highway 111, Palm Desert, CA 92260
